The little Galician village where Olga and Antoine have settled looks idyllic. But underneath the calm, an irrepressible rage arises. This thriller, presented at Cannes by Spanish director Rodrigo Sorogoyen, is one of those that you don’t forget. Horses play a leading role, and the duel between man and animal is only a prelude to the other one that’s about to begin. A cruel fable that reminds us that man is a wolf to man.
Il a l’air idyllique, ce petit village de Galice où s’installent Olga et Antoine. Mais sous le calme apparent, la rage gronde. On ne sort pas tout à fait indemne de ce thriller ténébreux, présenté à Cannes par le réalisateur espagnol Rodrigo Sorogoyen. Les chevaux y jouent un rôle de premier plan, et le duel entre l’homme et l’animal n’est qu’un prélude à celui, implacable, qui va s’engager. Une fable cruelle qui rappelle que l’homme reste un loup pour l’homme.
